Something further about the project...

Project's appearence...
"Body and voice at play" emerges from the perception of the advantages coming from the alliance of two distinct areas - Psychology and Drama. Drama techniques allow a different approach to Psychology putting it in a light and practical way and with an (un)dramatized sense. The importance of the game itself is also enlightened. Focus is given to the organized “playing space and time”, where the time to play is valuable. Each session is based on the Game and everything emerges from it. This project emphasizes the promotion of the development, which is its basis. It is built upon a promotion perspective, underlining the personal and social growing. This work tries to take from Psychology the crisis interventional aspect usually associated with it. The purpose is to show different paths on this area and at the same time show its association with other apparently distinct fields like theatre.

General goals
This project intends to facilitate the development of children's personal and social skills, working with them in an important but also funny way. Psychology is shown as something light and with different and light paths. To show them that the Psychology is available, and tangible to them.

Specific goals
To develop expressive skills (among others):

· Concentration and attention - essential conditions to the general learning process, not only at school, but also in life situations.

· Mobility and body coordenation and knowledge - exploring alternative ways of mobility and general body movements, helping them expressing through body fluent language.

· Ease - this also increases children's confidence to explore the environment, having more autonomy and curiosity.

· Interpersonal relationship - helping children to develop different ways of being around with others. Also increasing cooperation and team spirit.

· Vocal expression (voice work and modulation) – exploring the voice as instrument, including breathing techniques.

· Creativity and environment exploration - this is an important tool to help children with the alternatives' exploration and also to help them face challenges.

. Space awareness - helping them to face the space where they're in and attending to their place in their surroundings.

. Using different kinds of materials exploring not so common uses.

The sessions focus mainly on participants themselves, on their capacities and backgrounds. Thus, there is no great need of materials to be brought by children. They only need comfortable clothes.
All the materials are assured by the trainers.
